CAPE TOWN Weather Forecast & Climate
Cape Town, Mother City of Africa, and the Western Cape has a Mediterranean climate. This means it has hot summers and mild and rainy winters.
The Weather in Cape Town can be unpredictable. You might experience four seasons in one day. The climate is considered “Mediterranean” meaning that it’s warm in the sun and cool at night, with Winter in Cape Town (July), averaging a low of 7ºC, a high of 18ºF and Summer (let’s say February) sporting 29ºC for a high and a low of 16ºC.
The summer (December – February) is when Cape Town fills with vacationers, and the Mother City Queer Project Festival takes place, so fall (March -May) is considered perfect by the locals: still mild, less wind and quiet.
Note. If you take any outdoor tours remember to apply plenty of sun factor! Even on cloudy days you can burn easily!
